ken wagner has been with the new york city fire department for over 20 years and a member of the pleasantville new york volunteer fire department for 27 years. in addition to his many years of fire service experience, ken has been an automotive truck mechanic since 1976 and a fire apparatus mechanic since 1979.

during his long career in fdny, one of ken’s special assignments included six years in the technical services division / apparatus design unit of fdny. in that role, ken was responsible for performing survey needs analysis for apparatus and new mobile equipment. some other responsibilities included writing specifications, forecasting and cost analysis for a capital budget, initiating the bidding process from pre-bid analysis to the actual award of the bid. ken also attended pre-engineering meetings, as well as overseeing all phases of apparatus assembly and inspections through final design and delivery. ken also managed a budget of approximately twenty million dollars annually.

during the aftermath of the september 11th attacks on the world trade center, ken worked around the clock to rebuild the decimated fdny fleet. this included approximately 140 various pieces of apparatus ranging from pumpers and aerial apparatus, to a number of special units such as, heavy rescues and high rise units, mask service unit, tactical response units, collapse units, haz-mat & haz-mat decon units, field communications units and ems multi-casualty incident (mci) units.

greg stone is a twenty-eight year veteran of the los angeles fire department. in that twenty-eight years, greg has held the rank of firefighter, engineer and captain. as captain, he has been assigned to engine and ladder companies throughout the city. his special assignments included three years as the commander of the equipment engineering unit of the los angeles fire department.

as the commander of the equipment engineering unit, greg was responsible for the preparation of the specifications used to purchase all fire apparatus and equipment for the city of los angeles fire department. he managed a budget of approximately thirteen million dollars a year for the acquisition of apparatus. the apparatus specified under his supervision included pumpers, aerials, ambulances, heavy rescues, air/re-hab units, foam tenders, helicopters, fire boats and staff and support vehicles. greg continues to work closely with the engineering unit to provide assistance and guidance with current projects.
